Flower Power Play

Nearly a year ago SE Corp was working very closely with the Federal Government to help expand the federation. The SE Boarder Patrols department was very active in the ongoing Fed expansion conflict zones. Many of our pilots sported rank five bonus for president Hudson; in short, combat was a big thing for our corporation at the time.
But as SE grew and the power struggle over 339 with blue creative continued, the corporation turned its eyes inwards, focusing on ventures that benefited the system and Starship Enterprises standing in the influence charts. Large scale combat operations were put onto the back burner as they were seen to be too time consuming. SE Began to focus more on trade, science, exploration and tourism, and research and development, especially into the the bio-engineering sector. During the brief but explosive civil war with the IVP many of the combat trained Boarder Patrol pilots were called back into 339 where they then stayed to help in the effort to clean up the outer system. Many of these pilots helped patrol the space lanes during the community goal to help build Earth's Inheritance Wildlife Reserve and have now been incorporated into the system's standing police force.
Nowadays, SE has taken a back seat in power play, choosing to help the Federation in more passive ways. Dr. Lewis Chapman, CEO of the corporation has been quoted saying that he does not agree with some of the more recent 'cloak and dagger tactics by the federal government' and that 'there is definitely something going on that is being kept under wraps' but he refuses to talk further on the subject when questioned.
With the slow encroachment of Yuri Grom into our local space, offering payouts for trade and exploration and bonus' to our influence rep, some pilots are even considering the switch.
Power play aside, SE Corps' alliance with the Federation continues. Whitson and So-Yeon export high quality food produce to many wanting customers and any needy systems stricken by famine, while the Park continues to thrive as both a center for tourism and an industrial powerhouse. SE Mining (one of our oldest companies) continues to pull in fantastic, glistening loads of shiny metals and twinkly gems. SE Logistics have been working with contacts in the Empire to provide us with a new fleet of Imperial Cutters so that we can boost our haulage capacity and take more humanitarian aid to systems affected by famine or outbreak. Galaxy Tours and SE Discovery now work together closely to find interesting locations around the Milky Way and then plan trips for interested parties.
Starship Enterprises has faced a difficult last quarter, with plummeting profits and strict opposition from blue creative; a quarter that has come to be known as 'the Big Dip'. but our tenacious commanders have pulled us through once again and SE are on the up as they rightly should be.
