Over Stretched

These past few weeks the Starship Enterprises Corp have been attempting to expand the company. Dr Lewis Chapman had designs on establishing a secondary set of offices in the Pontus star system and pilots of the SE Corp have been busy both clearing out the Pontus system, and pushing their own faction up in LP 339-7.

However, Lp 339-7 is a rather giant system with a massive population and expanding out of it was always going to be an epic undertaking. Furthermore, the CEO's decision to split his pilots between 339 and Pontus has resulted in both endeavors sadly failing.

It is important to remember that the ethos of the SE Corp is one of a casual player group, and although the expansion effort was an important one, there was no pressure on SE pilots to fully dedicate themselves to the task. Lewis Chapman went on record to apologise for his bad decision, he said,

"in retrospect it is clear to see that I should have thrown the full weight of the company into the expansion effort, instead of sending some pilots into the Pontus system to prepare. Evidently there was no need to prepare Pontus, as our expansion effort did not succeed this time. I have decided to give my pilots some time off for all of their hard work over this last quarter and I am currently in discussions with my heads of departments to decide if we shall give the expansion another go in the near future"

SE Corp influence dropped by around 8% over this last week but has now stabilized in the mid 60's. even with the drop, SE influence is better than it ever was pre-expansion effort.
