Expansion Halted!

The Starship Enterprises Corporation have been really trying to expand out of their system for the past few weeks. Their goal was to establish an embassy in the Pontus system, a military system that has been somewhat of a target for a while now.

However Lp 339-7 is a really massive system and trying to convert seventy five percent of 18 billion people towards your cause is a titanic challenge. SE Corp found themselves struggling to get past the 65% mark without some kind of minor event messing them up and sending the influence flying back down again.

Stories were being told, and re-told of an ancient Earth myth regarding a man trying to push a big rock up a steep hill.

However, as it turned out, it was probably a good thing that SE were struggling, as another minor faction moved into Pontus and sent SE's new expansion target to the 27 B1 Cygni system.

This system was already owned by ArcSmart, a neighboring faction that SE Corp has a friendly none aggression pact with. Suffice to say that Dr. Lewis Chapman did not want to expand into ArcSmart's system and violate the treaty.

Hence the expansion effort has now been halted temporarily while the boffins decide what to do.

I am sure the final decision will filter down to us reporters eventually but for now we will have to just wait and see.
